Building Systems
Many buildings and uses ...
one insulation system.
The Simple Saver® System is the ideal option for finishing and insulating buildings of all types and applications including metal building, bar joist, roof trusses and post frame structures.
Considering the flexible nature and the unique attributes of the materials that make the Simple Saver, it provides a variety of economical applications to increase insulation performance regardless of roof or wall types. The concept remains the same by economically maximizing the space for insulation and functioning as a large single piece of durable, bright vapor retarder fabric.
Roof Systems
The Simple Saver System can be installed on the ceiling in any of the following new or existing roof types:
Wall Systems
The Simple Saver System can be installed on the ceiling in any of the following new or existing wall types:
*The installation differs slightly between each building type.
Bar Joists
Implementing the Simple Saver System in bar joist roof structures provides a great solution to isolate conductive steel joists and utilize inexpensive, unfaced fiberglass insulation (blanket or loose fill) in the cavity spaces to insulate the roof. Bar joist applications often present unusual conditions along sidewall termination points and also along bar joist bearing points that are not typical for Zee and Cee shaped cold rolled purlins. The Simple Saver still incorporates custom sized Syseal™ fabric, UVMAX™ steel support straps, fasteners and sealants with bar joist applications, however at this time the Simple Saver System is not tested nor certified for fall protection with this type of roof structure.
Unusual conditions include the bottom chords of the joist which may be in a completely different plane than the top planes of the typical metal building rafter beams and also the bottom plane of the eave struts (eave purlins) will be in a completely different plane. Due to these special conditions and variations, Thermal Design provides guidance and easy to implement solutions and details outlined within the Simple Saver System installation instructions to help designers and contractors with the specification and installation of the fabric (flexible) liner system.
Options and Solutions Include:
- Perimeter Attachment Methods on Various Wall Types (metal girts, hard wall, other)
- Beam Depth Variations or Open Web Joists
- Girder Brace Attachment Details
- Joist Depth and Insulation Thicknesses
- Air Spaces and Ventilation
- Common Hanging Methods
- Various Thermal Spacer Blocks (Breaks)
Post Frame
Implementing the Simple Saver System in post frame / wood structures provides a great solution to maintain a continuous vapor retarder spanning multiple truss spaces and the building width. It provides an opportunity to utilize inexpensive, unfaced fiberglass insulation (blanket or loose fill) in the cavity spaces or provides insulation 'attic type space' for insulating the roof depending on the needs of the building and owner preferences.
The Simple Saver utilized in post frame construction incorporates custom sized Syseal fabric, appropriate fasteners, sealants and optional support strap choices (poly woven strap or galvanized strap) depending on the application and building use. At this time the Simple Saver System is not tested or certified for fall protection with this type of roof structure.
Options and Solutions Include:
- Truss Bottom Cord Installation
- Open Web Rafters With Wood Purlin
- Framing Depth and Insulation Thicknesses
- Air Spaces and Ventilation
- Common Hanging Methods
